About

Dark Star Magick is a dealer in antiquarian, rare and collectible books on esotericism and the occult, based in Portland, Oregon. The house has placed grimoires, fine editions and hard-to-find texts with readers and practitioners since 2007.

The Collection

The collection covers magick, witchcraft, Thelema, alchemy, the Qabalah, tarot, astrology, necromancy, the Left Hand Path and the wider history of occult philosophy. Antique and out-of-print volumes sit alongside new work from independent presses, among them Scarlet Imprint, Hadean Press, Ouroboros Press and Golden Hoard. Tarot decks, artwork and occasional ritual items are also offered.

The collection includes books on controversial subjects. Their presence here is not an endorsement of their contents. It reflects a commitment to the open exchange of ideas.

History

Dark Star Magick opened in 2007 as an online occult supply shop, carrying ritual and ceremonial items alongside new and used books. Its focus has since narrowed to antiquarian and rare books and unusual occult material. The inventory changes often.

Dark Star Press

Dark Star Press, the house imprint, began in 2011 with In Nomine Babalon: 156 Adorations to the Scarlet Goddess, first printed in an edition of 156 copies. The 11th Anniversary Edition carries an introduction by Georgia van Raalte and cover art by Mary Henlin.
