Description

Originally written in 1850 under the title ‘A Suggestive Inquiry into the Hermetic Mystery‘, Hermetica Alchemica by Mary Anne Atwood is one of the first published compositions on the comparable ideas between alchemy and spirituality.
Delving deep into the concepts of both the esoteric and the exoteric mysteries, Ms. Atwood takes us on a monumental exploration of the Hermetic Art.
From the theory of transmutation and the physical secrets of the Philosopher’s Stone, Atwood assimilates the Alchemical art of mind and matter into a syncretic whole.
With the publication of this book in the nineteenth-century, it has influenced Madame Blavatsky, A.E. Waite and countless others in the Hermetic tradition. Over the years since publication, it continues to be one of the primary cornerstones in works of occultism concerned with turning not only material lead into gold, but also to enable the individual to advance upward into the True Gold of the metaphysician.
